Dogs are wonderful, loving animals who don’t care about superficial things like appearances… which is a very good thing because these pets are downright fugly
1. SweePee Rambo
A 17-year-old Chinese crested chihuahua with legs bowed out like a frog won the 2016 World’s Ugliest Dog contest. SweePee has a mohawk that glistens in the sun and a tongue that sticks out. She is blind in both eyes and has to wear doggie diapers. Jason Wurtz owner of SweePee received a prize of $1,500. Wurtz said he would use the money to pay for the removal of a tumor that recently popped up on SweePee’s gum line.
Peanut, a rescue dog with unknown breed origins, was crowned the World’s Ugliest Dog back in 2014. Peanut was a victim of animal abuse and was injured in a fire
3. Quasi Modo
Quasi Modo, a rescue pitt bull and Dutch shepherd mix with a spinal defect, giving him a hunchback look. He is a second ugliest dog of 2016.
4. Sam, Crypt-Keeper Dog
He looked like a cross between the Crypt-Keeper and a Gremlin, which made registered Chinese Crested dog Sam a shoo-in to win the “World’s Ugliest Dog” title in 2005. That was the third year in a row that Sam had won this dubious title.
Sadly, the 14-year-old Sam suffered from a myriad of health problems and died
With a face that only a mother could love, this 2 year-old half-blind Pointer mix was abandoned in an animal shelter in England before finally getting lucky. When he was named Britain’s Ugliest Dog in 2010, suddenly hundreds of people flooded the Mayflower Animal Shelter with inquiries about adopting him.
The lucky adoptive “parent” was April Parker, a 35 year-old mother of two. Upon adopting him, Parker’s first order of business was to change his name from “Ug” to a slightly kinder moniker: “Doug.”
